Many vegans feel that killing animals for meat and using them to produce eggs, milk, and other products is cruel. Being a vegan is all about NOT supporting the inhuman conditions dairy cows and chickens are forced in to in order to produce enough supplies to meet the food demand.
Vegans also make this lifestyle commitment for health reasons. A vegan diet consists of many healthy foods, all of which are high in nutrients. The foods eaten during this lifestyle are usually lower in cholesterol and fats, which has a positive impact on their health. A vegan even has less of a risk of developing certain diseases, such as diabetes and heart disease.
As you can see, there are many reasons to become vegan. Being a vegan means you are increasing your health and are not taking part in animal cruelty, all by eliminating animal products from your diet.
