Celebs Love Vegan!

When you look at all of the celebrities who are now vegan and loving it, the thing that stands out is their diversity. Their reasons for going vegan are different, too.  What most of them seem to share is their passion for being vegan.

If you go into Pure Food and Wine, a vegan and raw food restaurant on Manhattan’s Irving Place, it would not be unusual to see movie stars Katie Homes or Alec Baldwin. You might also spot football player Tom Brady, or radio host Howard Stern. Then again, President Bill Clinton and Chelsea visit from time to time. All types of athletes from Carl Lewis to Mike Tyson and even 245-pound NFL player, Tony Gonzalez, praise the vegan lifestyle. (Source: Associated Press 11/16/11)

It’s not just actors and athletes who are choosing vegan. Famous people in all walks of life are seeing its benefits. Billionaire publisher and real estate magnate, Mort Zuckerman, recently declared himself a vegan. Las Vegas casino owner, Steve Wynn, hired a vegan chef and has put vegan options in his restaurants. Biz Stone, the co-founder of Twitter, is another celeb who is vocal about vegan.

Hundreds of well-known people enjoy the benefits of veganism today. But some of the most passionate vegans and the strongest spokesmen about compassion for animals and integrity for humans lived in other centuries. They have the same thoughts and feelings many of us do:

Pythagoras (Mathematician 570BC-495BC): “For as long as men massacre animals, they will kill each other. Indeed, he who sows the seed of murder and pain cannot reap joy and love.”

Leonardo DaVinci (Artist and Inventor 1452-1519): “The time will come when men such as I will look upon the murder of animals as they now look on the murder of men.”

Are you ready to try a gentle, healthful Vegan Flush? It’s a detox that will cleanse
your system without you having to be hungry or take pills. It’s very likely that in just two weeks you’ll be healthier, happier, and thinner!

On the light side, Sociallife.com (8/1/11) has a few surprises for us with its list of their top ten vegan celebrities. They range from Betty White, 89, — we always knew she was an animal lover but might not have known she was vegan, to Robin Williams (he is vegan for health reasons after heart surgery) to Steve-O (of Jackass movie fame) and Weird Al Yankovic.

Just for fun, you might want to take a look at “40 Sexy Vegan Men!!” on YouTube (2/10/10). This is a group of young men, mostly rockers, who are or have been vegan.
